STREETWISE EDUCATION

Knife Crime and Gang Prevention Resources

Streetwise Youth Crime Prevention Resources aim to educate children and young people aged 11 to 18 years old about the consequences of street crime. Using a range of interactive mediums such as arts, music, role play, and groupwork, Streetwise aims to demystify the appeal of street crime by challenging young people’s attitudes and beliefs, and explores real life issues.

Streetwise works in innovative ways with young people to develop their self-esteem and confidence and enabling them to resist drug, gang, weapon and knife related cultures. The resources can be used in a variety of settings including schools, as part of citizenship programmes, in community centre’s, youth services, youth offending teams, children homes, law enforcement agencies, prisons and many other public and private social care services and organisations. This innovative resource is powerful engagement tool for practitioners working with children and young people.
