Action for Children

Action for Children work directly with children, young people, parents and carers, especially those who face incredibly difficult situations. Action for Children runs 650 services across the UK to tackle a wide range of issues such as child neglect and abuse, affecting young people, children in care, and disabled children.

Addaction

Addaction is a drug and alcohol service offering support for adults, young people, parents/carers and professionals; providing a free confidential specialist service specifically for young people, known as Young Addaction.

Addaction runs over 120 projects around the country. The site has an online directory to enable users to search locally.

Barnardos

Barnardo’s works directly with children, young people and their families, specifically with those most vulnerable at risk. It runs over 900 vital services across the UK, each being different to tackle a wide range of issues such as:

Beat Bullying

Beat Bullying is an international organisation campaigning to make bullying unacceptable, to prevent young people enduring the pain, fear or isolation of being bullied. Beat Bullying promotes everyone having the right to be safe from bullying, violence and harassment; aiming to stop bullying and keeps young people safe. Support services are available for parent, carers, teachers and professionals; resources include chat rooms, blogs, and access to talk with support staff.

Bullying UK

Bullying UK offers support to young people, parents and schools in all aspects of bullying including cyber-bullying, bullying in school and bullying in the workplace. The site offers an online chat facility to access advice and support, as well as email and telephone contact options. Bullying UK supports National Anti-Bullying Week.

Kidscape

NSPCC

The NSPCC works in partnership with ChildLine to protect children across the UK through a range of services for both children and adults, including national helplines and local projects. Projects in local communities offer direct services for children who have experienced, or are at risk of, abuse. NSPCC services include helplines, report line, general enquiries and specialist advice and information for adults and professionals in order to help them protect children.

Safer Internet

The UK Safer Internet Centre delivers a wide range of support and activity to promote the safe and responsible use of technology. The service is available to young people, teachers and professionals as well as parents and carers.
It offers an e-safety helpline for professionals, a UK hotline to report online criminal content, educational resources to educate young people and develops self-assessment tools for schools to evaluate their e-safety provision, including policy development. The centre coordinates and supports Safer Internet Day annually as part of its global and UK partnership.

Virgin Media and F-Secure: Switched On Families Advice

Virgin Media and F-Secure are working together to help keep families safe online in response to research which shows that families not only need to know how to use internet security tools but also how to have a conversation about the big issues like online bullying, talking to strangers online to keep them safe when using the Internet.
